Yes, supply chain shortages have impacted the availability and price of materials. In recent months, supply costs have increased substantially. We will guide you through this challenging market so that you can appropriately budget.
How have current events and the pandemic impacted bespoke builders?
The demand on building materials and skilled- labor willing to work outside of one’s home increased exponentially during mandatory quarantines and subsequent lockdowns of traditional work facilities. As individuals worked in isolation at their residences, the desire to spruce-up or make one’s living environment more conducive to extended periods in the home brought on a higher demand for materials and individuals with the know-how to complete building tasks.
Due to these factors, Calleiro Brothers Inc. is being daily inundated with bespoke project requests. Skilled-trade workers with the experience to complete a truly bespoke design are limited. We strive to give our clients individual dedication from the beginning of the design process to the completed project. This commitment to our current clients and supply chain limitations have meant that wait time for projects will take longer than in pre- pandemic times.
What makes Calleiro Brothers different from other builders?
Calleiro Brothers have been crafting custom projects for over 40 years. Choosing Calleiro Brothers Inc. provides a client with the access to secured supplier relationships and the know-how to locate and deliver materials that, at this time, are harder than average to acquire.

Ruben, the CEO of Calleiro Brothers, earned a bachelor’s degree in building design and management. This degree and first-hand knowledge sets him apart from many in the building industry who have not been formally educated in these areas. Many current building groups come from a finance background— meaning their top priority during a build can be cost-cutting for the company, not necessarily producing quality for the client. This can mean that materials selected can be inferior and the long-term upkeep of a build can be more costly for the client’s space and/or health*.

Building, creating, and designing are Ruben’s passions. Each project is viewed as a potential work of art. His craftsmanship is displayed in each of his projects. He is able to complete these pieces of art through partnering with skilled sub-contractors. Ruben is bilingual in English and Spanish. This is a true asset for any project manager. He is able to communicate with sub-contractors in speciality fields. This ability to communicate in another language sets him apart from other builders. Many require the assistance of hiring additional building managers (adding to the clients overall builder fees) or have miscommunication due to language barriers.
What are Calleiro Brothers views on sustainability and safe building practices?
Calleiro Brothers is committed to trying to reduce building waste. This means that our building sites are maintained in order to keep material, like lumber, in optimum condition. Ruben, the CEO of Calleiro Brothers, enjoys the challenge of reclaiming and salvaging materials from the existing site to bring sustainability to a project. Many of our clients have selected Calleiro Brothers because of the commitment to sustainability and the beautifully creative ways it can be implemented.

Building materials that present potential health hazards are strongly discouraged on all Calleiro Brothers projects. Sometimes cheaper materials can be detrimental to the longevity of a build. Products made with inferior materials can have volatile organic compounds (VOCs). VOCs can impact the quality of air in a build due to off-gassing. These compounds can negatively impact the building space users quality of life.
